Looking Ahead

We recently invited Dr Jennifer Elvery to fill a vacancy on our Marist Tertiary and Online Committee.  I am pleased to say she has accepted.  Jennifer is Head of Staff Services at Marist College Ashgrove.  She completed her doctorate from ACU in 2013 with a thesis titled 'Understanding and Implementing the Marist Charism from the Middle: The Experience of Middle Leaders in a Marist School'.

On 8th and 9th August, 2015, we held the first of our two Marist Educational Leadership weekends in Melbourne. The second will be held later this month. We have six participants, four from Traralgon, one from Melbourne and one from Lismore. We anticipate next year's program will be held at Marist College, Pearce in Canberra.

We have had a number of people in both Adelaide and Canberra express interest in undertaking a Graduate Certificate Unit in Marist Studies next year.  We currently have accreditation with the University of South Australia and are anticipating making an application to ACU for accreditation for a Marist Unit in both the Graduate Certificate in Education and Graduate Certificate in Religious Education (both AQF level 8) for use in Canberra and beyond.  We will keep you posted.
